IMC/Tele RN - 3N Cardiac/Tele/Dialysis

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 12 hours
Hours per week: 48

Unit Overview

• Department: 3N MS/IMC RN
• 29 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on days through 2300; 1:5-6 on nights after 2300
• Patient population includes cardiac medical and surgical patients, including post-cath lab and post-cardiac surgery cases

Required Qualifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment
• Experience with post procedural cath lab patients
• Experience managing TR band compression devices
• Experience managing chest pain
• Experience with post cardiac surgical patients

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No call unless it is an extra shift
• Floating as needed based on unit census
• Charge RN takes a modified assignment
• No self-scheduling
• Block scheduling may be available if it meets unit needs, but is not guaranteed in contract agreements
• Fri/Sat/Sun option is available

Clinical Responsibilities and Unit Support

• RN is required to titrate drips
• No vasopressors
• Common drips include Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and Dobutamine
• 24/7 central telemetry unit monitors all non-critical care patients and does the strips
• Nurse aides are present on the unit
• RT is available 24/7 and assists with nebulizers, inhalers, cpap, bipap, and vapotherm; RNs are responsible for incentive spirometry

Orientation and Dress Code

• Orientation includes 1 shift of HR onboarding and 1 shift on the unit
• No scrubs provided
• No scrub color specified

Submission Note

• Must note in submission if the clinician has ever worked for Marshfield
• If previously worked there, the clinician must have an end date at least 6 months before the submission date
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
