Overview

Unit / Setting

• Unit: OR
• 4 beds in the main OR and 8 beds in the pavilion

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification
• At least 2 years of OR experience

Preferred

• Can scrub
• Cerner Surginet experience
• Experience with CV cases
• Experience with robotic cases

Schedule / Call

• 1 shift of call per week and every 4th weekend
• No evenings
• No weekends
• Weekend requirement is not required

Additional Role Details

• Charge nurse does not take patients/cases
• Scrub techs are used
• Floating is not required
• Scrub color is provided by the hospital
• 1 week of paperwork orientation and 1 week partnered with a preceptor

Case Mix

• Main OR: mostly ortho cases, including totals such as hips, knees, and joints
• Pavilion: neuro and ortho spine, CV cases, general, gynecology, urology, and ENT
• 15–25 cases per day
• 400 cases per month
• 20–25% of cases are inpatient
• Critical patients go directly to ICU from the OR
