Role Summary

Registered Nurse responsible for the nursing care and safety of patients undergoing endoscopic and/or invasive procedures with or without sedation.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Colorado
Endoscopy experience within the last year
1 year of endoscopy experience
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with GI equipment operation

Responsibilities

Collaborates with the Pre-operative care RN to assess patient needs and procedure requirements
Develops, implements, and communicates a plan of care
Responds to patient comfort needs and requests for health information
Uses aseptic practice and monitors compliance within the surgical team
Supports, educates, and reassures patients and families
Documents equipment use and supply consumption for charging and inventory management
Floats to other departments under the Peri Operative umbrella and occasionally to other nursing units within scope of competency and qualifications
May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
