Job Details

- Weekend Requirement: Minimum every other weekend, based on unit needs
- Holidays: Working holidays required (dates determined by unit, no requests for specific holidays)
- Locals: Not accepted (candidates residing in Guam are considered local and will not be considered)
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours
- Passport: Current US passport required (Canadian passports not accepted)
- Travel: Flights are not reimbursed; plan accordingly
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience required
- First-time travelers accepted only if they have 2 years ICU experience
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios required
- Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- IV therapy experience required
- Neurological experience required
- Respiratory/Thoracic experience required
Required Certifications and Licensure
- Must have Compact or Guam RN license at time of application (pending licenses not accepted)
- ACLS (American Heart Association provider card required; instructor cards not accepted)
- BLS (American Heart Association provider card required; instructor cards not accepted)
- NIH Stroke Certification (digital certificate required)
- Conscious Sedation certification preferred (required for ICU, ER, Cath Lab)
- TCRN preferred but not required
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP for specific units)
Facility-Specific Training and Requirements
- Must complete facility nursing modules (8-12 hours), including:
- Pressure Injury Training
- NIH Stroke Scale Training (NIHSS)
- Alaris IV Pumps
- Pyxis CareFusion
- Drug Calculations and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) exams required onsite during orientation (pen and paper format, must pass with 80% or higher)
- Fit test for specific masks required within 1 year prior to start; may be completed onsite if needed
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year required
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical exemption required during flu season (September 1 - June 30)
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred; declination requires facility-specific waiver form
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year (not required by facility but required by agency)
- Background check within 1 year including criminal and sex offender searches
- Emergency contact form required prior to start
- Two professional references required (within 3 years of start)
- Work history verification for last 10 years required
- Passport in hand required before start
- Travelers should plan to arrive at least one day before start date due to long travel times and time zone differences
Work Environment
- Charting system: Allscripts/Sunrise
- Scrub color: Navy blue preferred; solid colors acceptable; mixing colors allowed
- Parking: Free with registration and decal from HR
- Cath Lab/OR/PACU: Scrubs provided
This position requires a highly experienced ICU RN with strong critical care skills, flexibility for shift and weekend work, and the ability to complete required certifications and facility-specific training. Candidates must be prepared to work holidays and comply with all health and safety requirements.
