Respiratory Therapist - Travel Assignment

Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Description

Provide basic cardiopulmonary care in general patient care areas under supervision.
May be assigned advanced patient care duties as appropriate.
Work schedule includes nights and weekends as scheduled.
Uniform requirement: Navy blue scrubs.
No false nails allowed.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
Must be a Licensed Respiratory Therapist registered with the state board for respiratory care in West Virginia.
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential via NBRC required.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience using EPIC electronic medical records system.
Must have an unexpired driver’s license and be within a 50-mile radius for submission.
Disclose any licensing issues at time of application.

Additional Information

Supervision provided by cardiopulmonary director or supervisor.
Position based at a hospital in Bridgeport, WV.
Night shift with 12-hour shifts and weekend work as scheduled.

Coworkers were great, very welcoming

Cons

Was told in phone interview that max ratio would be 1:9. Reality was 1:15. Unit was considered transitional, but patients were more like med/surg. Not willing to risk my license for such unsafe ratios.
