Unit Information

• Unit: Operating Room
• Number of beds: 29
• Staffing (varies by volume):

  • Day shift: 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, clinical coordinator
  • Night shift: 1 Charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 2 Techs, clinical coordinator
• Patient ratio: 3:1
• Equipment used: x-rays, preoperative equipment, anesthesiology equipment, lab, electrocardiography (EKG)
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Job Responsibilities

• Observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care
• Scrub and circulator duties across all service lines
• Perform typical procedures including joint replacement, ENT, orthopedic, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Current certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Orthopedics experience

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS certification
• CNOR certification
• Charge nurse experience

Work Schedule & Requirements

• 36 hours per week
• Rotating weekends possible
• On-call requirements over a 4-week period:

  • 2 weeknight calls (7pm-7am)
  • 2 weekend 24-hour calls
  • 1 holiday 24-hour call (if holiday falls within the period)

Dress Code

• Scrubs must be navy blue or royal blue
• Surgical-type scrubs are not acceptable
