Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Carmel, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (3 x 12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
- Guaranteed hours vary by shift pattern:
- 3 shifts of 12 hours = 36 hours/week
- 4 shifts of 12 hours = 48 hours/week
- 8 or 10 hour shifts also available totaling 40 hours/week
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
- Pending state license not accepted; Indiana state license and required certifications must be in hand before starting
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 1 year of experience
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Experience
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Required Documentation & Compliance

- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start

- Physical exam within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (approved respirators only)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and titers:
- TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
- Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (supervisory or managerial titles required)
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps of 30+ days over the past 7 years
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific orientation packets and compliance checklists prior to start
- HIPAA acknowledgment updated annually
- Self-study orientation and test must be completed at least 1 week prior to start
- Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments are time sensitive and must be prioritized
Additional Notes
- On-site fit testing is available only as a last resort and requires prior approval
- PAPR use requires facility approval before start
- Candidates must upload all required documentation timely to avoid delays
This position offers a structured night shift schedule with guaranteed hours and requires a fully licensed and nationally certified RRT with current immunizations and compliance documentation. First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome to apply.
