Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: New London, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Nights, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 48 hours
Call and weekends: Required as needed
Job Description
- Work in a short-term acute care Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds.
- Float between two hospital locations in Connecticut and Rhode Island.
- Candidate must obtain both Connecticut and Rhode Island state licenses; can start with whichever license is issued first.
- Use of GE and Siemens imaging equipment required.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Free parking available.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Connecticut.
- Minimum 1.5 years of CT Technologist experience.
- CT Technologist experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Certifications & Training
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
- Advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) not specified for this role.
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required.
- Must complete various facility-specific training modules and attestations prior to or at start (e.g., compliance, safety, and equipment training).
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months prior to start; must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification required; foreign equivalency reports accepted from approved agencies for internationally educated candidates.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test required within 12 months of start and must be updated annually (clean shaven required).
- TB screening: Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
- Immunizations/vaccinations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), Tdap (highly preferred for certain specialties).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
- COVID vaccination series preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass color blindness test (minimum 80% score) after 8/2/2024.
- Must pass medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 85% score).
- Must complete skills checklist within 12 months of start.
- Must sign and return facility-specific attestations prior to start.
- Must complete annual TB questionnaire.
- Employment application must include a 7-year work history with no gaps over 90 days.
- Various facility-specific education and compliance modules required (e.g., fire safety, patient care services, stroke education, etc.).
Work Environment
- Night shift with 4x12 hour shifts.
- Call and weekend coverage as needed.
- Floating between two hospital sites in CT and RI.
- Use of advanced imaging equipment (GE & Siemens).
- Charting in EPIC electronic health record system.
This position is ideal for CT Technologists with hospital experience seeking a travel contract in a Level III trauma center environment, comfortable with night shifts and flexible floating between two states.
