Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)

Job Summary

Provide nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a regional health center serving a diverse patient population including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The unit handles approximately 30-35 cases and uses Meditech as the electronic health record system.

Work Schedule

Shift: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 40 guaranteed
Call Requirements: Self-scheduling; typically 1 weekday per week and 1 weekend every 3-4 weeks
Minimal floating required (occasional float to linen services or med/surg as a sitter after training)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Experience with C-Section patients
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Unit and Patient Information

Unit: 2nd floor, PACU
Patient Population: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
Patient Volume: 30-35 cases per shift
EHR System: Meditech
