CVPICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Newark, New Jersey
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Unit has 19 beds and cares for infants, adolescents, and pediatrics
• Floating may include Pediatrics and NICU if needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• CVPICU (2 years of experience)
• CVPICU experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• IV Certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 1 year of cardiac critical care experience
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
• Experience with Epic
• Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays as needed
• Every other weekend

• ETCO2 monitoring

• Broselow system
• Congenital heart disease/repair, including ASD, VSD, AV Canal Defect, and TOF
• CT patient care including valve replacements
• Glenn and Fontan procedures
• Cardiac cath and ablations
• Cardiac transplant
• Post-cardiac surgery care
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Telemetry/tele monitoring
• Medtronic pacemakers
• Standard PICU equipment
• Peritoneal dialysis
• Pre/post hemodialysis
• Lumbar puncture assistance
• Hydrocephalus/VP shunt
• Chemotherapy monitoring
• Isolation precautions
