Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday clinic hours
- No weekends or major holidays
- Approximately 36 hours per week
Unit Details
- Unit: Gynecologic Oncology Infusion
- Number of chairs: 16
- Patient ratio: 4 patients per nurse at a time
- No unit secretaries or techs available
- Equipment used: Alaris Pumps
- Documentation system: MediTech Expanse
- Floating: May float to TCT Infusion unit after orientation
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Chemotherapy Certification by Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Skills and Procedures
- Chemotherapy administration
- Accessing Port-A-Cath using sterile technique
- Obtaining peripheral venous access
- IV hydration and electrolyte repletion
- Measuring height, weight, and vital signs
- Drawing labs via central venous catheter or peripheral access
Dress Code
- Solid colored scrubs in navy, lavender, pink, black, or teal
Additional Information
- Chemotherapy patient experience is required
- Orientation provided before floating to other infusion units
