Job Opportunity: RN - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: D2, 2nd floor, Mission Main campus
- Beds: 20
- Patient Type: Inpatient overflow unit with mixed level of care (medical surgical and/or step-down patients)
- Short stay patients (<24 hr length of stay) with quick turnover
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 stretch depending on level of care
- Equipment: Telemetry (all telemetry patients hardwired to bedside monitor)
- EMR System: Cerner
Required Skills and Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty (Progressive Care)
- Required Competencies:
- Telemetry competency
- Progressive Care experience (recent experience preferred)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Licenses: Valid Registered Nurse License
Work Environment and Expectations
- Floating: Required to float to other units as needed
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; no on-call required
- Dress Code: Navy and/or white top, navy bottom, or all white scrubs
- Personality Fit: Positive attitude, patient experience focused, kind, compassionate, team player
