Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Position

Location: Webster, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit: Neonatal ICU
Number of Beds: 42 (may overflow to 50)
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 2 CNC, 10-18 RNs, 1 PCT per shift
- Night Shift: 2 CNC, 10-18 RNs, 1 PCT per shift
Patient Ratios:
- Level 3: 1-2 patients per nurse depending on acuity (may have 3 if low acuity)
- Level 2: 3-4 patients per nurse
Equipment: Isolettes, OMNI beds, phototherapy, computers, HFVOF/HFJV, iNO, bCPAP, total body cooling
EMR Systems: Meditech and CPN

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience within the last year
BLS certification
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Typical Procedures Performed

IV starts
PICC insertions (for trained clinicians)
Circumcision

Work Environment & Culture

Team player and self-motivated personality preferred
Resource nurse available on unit
Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
Floating area includes Mother Baby unit
Minimum 4 weekend shifts per schedule required
Occasional on-call duties
