Job Details

Specialty: Nursing (ICU/CCU)
Location: Waimea, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: 80 hours every 2 weeks, no exceptions
Patient Population: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Unit: ICU/CCU (4 beds/4 rooms)
Patient Ratio: 1:2 depending on acuity; additional nurse called if one patient is on a ventilator
Additional Float Assignments: OB, Medical-Surgical (MS), PACU, and Emergency Room (ER) based on competency

Job Description

Coordinate and provide care to patients with serious respiratory and/or cardiac conditions requiring ICU/CCU specialized services.
After-hours PACU recovery duties.
Emergency room experience is recommended.
Hospital orientation through HR and in-service, followed by unit orientation with nurse manager (1-2 day shifts, then 1-2 night shifts) and completion of orientation/competency binder.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii
Minimum of 2 years CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Emergency room (ER) experience (recommended)

Additional Information

Holiday pay applies for hours worked on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Orientation and competency requirements must be completed.
Must comply with facility onboarding and compliance processes.
