RN Centralized Registry Float

Overview

• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Unit/department: General medical and surgical units
• Float scope: May float only to other medical units
• Patient ratio: 1:5-6

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• 1 year of Med Surg experience
• At least 1 year of experience at a large hospital with 450 or more beds
• BLS issued by American Heart Association

Schedule Requirements

• 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks

Unit Details

• Cares for a diverse medical-surgical population, including patients with chronic illness, GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders
• Common procedures include colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries
• Common tasks include assessments, care planning, inter-professional communication, EHR use, IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, heparin and insulin drips, and IV therapy management
• Equipment used includes Epic, Pyxis machines, Accucheck blood glucose, Hospira IV pumps, SCDs, heating/cooling pads, and telemetry monitoring

Orientation

• Jump Start orientation includes 1 day of general hospital orientation and approximately 5 days of nursing orientation
• Epic classes are included

Additional Notes

• Local clinicians within 50 miles are subject to a 12% rate reduction
• Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Caribbean Blue scrubs
