Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• Dysrhythmia reading experience

Unit Details

• 21-bed medical-surgical unit
• Average census: 15–16
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5; may go to 1:6
• Common patient types include CHF, COPD, diabetes, hypertension, post-op orthopedics, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy cases
• Heparin is a common titratable drip
• Nurses read their own telemetry strips
• CPAP equipment is used on the unit
• Patient care techs are available

Scheduling

• Block scheduling may be available
• Weekends are scheduled as needed

Additional Notes

• Submissions must include an unexpired driver’s license
• Licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• Any color scrubs may be worn
