Location

Farmington, New Mexico
Level III Trauma Center with 48 beds (flex space)
Patient population includes ESRD, Cirrhosis, COPD, Psychiatric cases
Emergency Department patient ratios: 4:1 in Main ED, 6:1 in Fast Track
Equipment includes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and Istat POC, Ultrasound Guided IV
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner

Position Details

Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
Weekly Hours: 36
Minimum two weekends scheduled per contract
No call requirements
Team nursing and Pod System model
Social Worker assigned to department
Unit Educator available

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Mexico
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications from the American Heart Association: ACLS, PALS, BLS
TNCC certification
Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation

Pros

Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.

Cons

It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
