Shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
Weekly hours: 36 hours for 3 shifts of 12 hours

Unit and Patient Ratio

Intermediate Care Unit - Telemetry
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
First-time travelers accepted
Prior travel experience not required

Scheduling

Weekend requirement: every other weekend
On-call required
Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs
Block scheduling not accommodated
Local candidates within 75 miles not accepted

Licensure and Certifications

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum of 1 year of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance and Background Checks

Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license)
Criminal background check within 6 months, including:
- Statewide and nationwide searches
- Sex offender registry
- International searches if applicable
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required quarterly
Fingerprinting required for assignments at or floating to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
Education verification of highest nursing degree required prior to start
State-specific exclusion and sanction list checks for Illinois placements, renewed quarterly

Health and Safety Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start date
Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (2 negative PPDs or equivalent within 1 year)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or medical exemption)
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 - Apr 1)
Drug screening within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.), must remain valid throughout assignment

- HIPAA acknowledgement
- Latex allergy questionnaire

- Regulatory compliance education (annual quiz with minimum 80% score)
- TB questionnaire (annual)
- Hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policy acknowledgements
- Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
Background check and license verifications uploaded and current
