Registered Nurse (RN) Flex Pool - Nights

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (surgical acute), and Cardiovascular Unit (rarely).
Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
Scheduled for 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation; hours are not guaranteed.
Use equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.

Patient Care Ratios

Medical Unit: 1:8 nurse-to-patient ratio at night (1:6 during days and evenings).
Laulima Unit: 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii.
Minimum of 2 years of stepdown nursing experience, with stepdown experience within the last year.
BLS and ACLS certifications.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Experience floating between units.
Medical-surgical nursing experience.

Orientation and Onboarding

Orientation provided for each unit floated to.
Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.

Additional Information

Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity documentation will not be accepted.
Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs).
