Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Travel Position

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Call Requirements:

Minimum 1 weekday call per week
Weekend call rotation
On-call shifts Monday to Friday 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM

Job Description

Provide perioperative nursing care as a circulator in the Operating Room.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR technicians to ensure patient safety and care quality.
Manage supplies, case timeliness, and communication with families.
Update physician preference cards.
Scrub and assist physicians during surgical procedures.
Supervise personnel delivering patient care in the OR.
Follow State Nurse Practice Act, AORN guidelines, and hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Experience working with both adult and pediatric patients
Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN), podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, trauma, and DaVinci robotic-assisted surgery
