Registered Nurse - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work on a mixed acuity unit caring for medical patients with some PCU level of care patients.
Unit specialties include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary care.
Patient ratios: MS patients 1:5-6, PCU patients 1:3-4.
Care includes managing unstable strokes, BiPAP, and drips such as cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin.
Must have solid neurological nursing experience.
Accepting RNs with experience in MS/Telemetry or PCU.
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM).
Charting system: Cerner.
Facility type: Short-Term Acute Care with 194 staffed beds.
Scrub color: red top, black bottoms.
Free parking available.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Indiana.
Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year.
Current certifications:
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Prior neurological nursing experience.
