Registered Nurse — Med/Surg Telemetry Post-Surgical Unit

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Chesapeake, Virginia
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Schedule options: 3x12s or 4x12s
  • Typical patient ratio: 1:7
  • High-volume post-surgical unit caring for urology and GYN surgical patients
  • Every other weekend, floating, and holidays are required
  • Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays
  • Longer assignments through January 9, 2027 are available

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License
  • Experience with Epic

Required Certifications

  • BLS through the American Heart Association

Compliance / Submission Requirements

  • Driver’s license required for address verification before offer acceptance
  • Completed Qualivis Cover Sheet
  • Current NURSYS report
  • All requested time off listed on the Qualivis Cover Sheet
  • No license or background hits are accepted
  • Proof of 2 references required
  • Complete application/resume required
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required
  • Passport-style photo required before start
  • Vehicle registration form required before start
  • Physical exam statement required within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required by 10/31
  • COVID vaccine is preferred but not required

Additional Notes

  • Previous travel experience is preferred
  • Overtime is paid after 48 hours for 4x12 schedules
