Med Surg Nights

Role Overview

• Medsurg Unit that is blended, with a thriving Swing Bed Program and occasional PCU-level patients.
• Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Schedule includes every other holiday and every other weekend.
• No on-call.

Unit / Setting

• Medsurg unit with Swing Bed and occasional PCU care.
• Ratios:

  • Medsurg: 1:5
  • Swing Bed: 1:5-6
  • PCU: 1:3-4, based on whether the patient is on a drip

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS

Preferred Qualifications

• None stated

Additional Notes

• If the nurse is only Medsurg by background, supervisors support assignments.
• The facility is Pathways to Excellence designated through the ANCC.
