Overview

• Role: RN ED
• Setting: 16-bed ED Observation Unit, separate location from Main ED, with non-admitted observation level of care
• Facility type: Short Term Acute Care
• Trauma designation: Level I Trauma Center
• Charting: Epic

Schedule

• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
• Hours per week: 36
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Float scope: May float within scope to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling: Open to accommodating block schedule
• Guaranteed hours: Yes
• On-call: Not required
• RTO: More than 7 days requires approval

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid RN license in Connecticut
• Experience: ED - Emergency Department (1.5 years of experience)
• Experience: ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• Experience: One completed travel assignment
• Certifications: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Certifications: TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

• Experience: 2 years
• Certifications: TNCC is preferred for Peds ER in the source system, but this opening explicitly lists TNCC as required

Additional Notes

• If the traveler does not meet requirements for York Street Campus ED, they will only be scheduled at NP 1 Observation Unit.
• Can be considered for other campus EDs after successful contracts.
