Travel Registered Nurse – Dialysis

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts (8:30 AM – 8:30 PM)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays as needed
  • On-call: Weekday and weekend on-call may be assigned, not exceeding 3 on-call shifts per six weeks
  • Start Dates Available: May 18, June 8, or June 22, 2026

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Wisconsin
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of dialysis experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with adult and pediatric patients
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days prior to start, including multi-location search for the past 7 years
  • Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems after hire
  • Wisconsin Caregiver Screening within 90 days of start (state-mandated)
  • Education verification as applicable
  • Drug screening required per standard clinical guidelines

Testing & Competency Exams

  • Telemetry test (Adult or Pediatric depending on assignment) required before start and annually thereafter
  • Pass/Fail testing for EKG/medication competency with remediation process if needed
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses or positive titers; medical/religious exemptions considered
    • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer; medical/religious exemptions considered
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form if declining
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof (one adult Tdap required)
  • Meningococcal vaccine or declination if working in Microbiology (if applicable)

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
  • Signed acknowledgment of safety manual and pass/fail testing policies
  • References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (Aya standard)
  • Employment application and annual skills checklist

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
  • Telemetry test must be completed through the designated LMS platform with strict passing criteria
  • Remediation courses are provided if initial telemetry test attempts fail, with contract cancellation after three failed attempts

This position offers a structured travel contract opportunity for experienced dialysis RNs with strong inpatient and telemetry skills, working in a Level 1 trauma hospital environment.
