Job Details
- Position: Dialysis Registered Nurse
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 8:30 PM), every other weekend
- On-Call: Weekday and weekend on-call may be assigned as needed (max 3 on-call shifts per 6 weeks)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Dialysis experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with both Adult and Pediatric patients
- Experience in an Inpatient setting
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
Required Testing & Competencies
- Telemetry pass/fail testing (Adult and Pediatric as applicable) with remediation process if needed
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color Blind Testing (required within 12 months if working in Dialysis)
- Annual skills checklist
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID Form (state-mandated)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire and monthly thereafter
- Education verification as applicable
- Drug screening per Vaya standard (clinical candidates)
- Physical exam (must be collected to meet agency standard, not facility required)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with TB questionnaire (updated annually)
- Proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or approved medical/religious exemption
- Varicella immunity or approved exemption
- Hepatitis B vaccination series with positive titer or facility-specific declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof (if applicable)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination (if working in Microbiology)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
- Completion of communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Completion of flu medical or religious exemption forms if applicable
- Completion of pediatric and adult telemetry exams through agency LMS platform with strict deadlines and remediation process
- Acknowledgement of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing policies
Additional Notes
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years required (agency standard)
- Employment application required for all candidates
- Candidates must comply with all facility and agency credentialing and compliance processes prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced Dialysis RNs with strong inpatient Hemodialysis skills, EPIC proficiency, and the ability to work both adult and pediatric populations in a fast-paced trauma-level hospital setting.
