Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays may be required based on unit needs
• Travelers may be called off for low census
• Floating is required to other MedSurg units; if floated to Tele, patients will be assigned within skill set

Unit Details

• MedSurg / Infectious Disease unit
• 18 private rooms
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Ratio may be 1:4 for COVID patients
• Charge nurse available 24/7
• 2 CNAs per shift
• No vents on the unit; patients may use CPAP, BiPAP, or high flow

Required Qualifications

• Current BLS certification
• Unexpired driver’s license
• Travel experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Strong knowledge of MedSurg, infectious disease, and isolation precautions

Patient Population

• Infectious disease, isolation, COVID, MRSA, and C. diff patients

Orientation

• 1 day of EPIC orientation
• 1 day of floor orientation with a preceptor
• Independent on the 3rd day

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
• Scrub jacket must also be royal blue if worn
• Hoodies and sweatshirts are not allowed
