RN Surgical Specialty

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 12-hour shifts
• 48 hours per week

Role Overview

• Hospital-based registered nurse role providing care for patients with a range of health problems.
• Mixed med/surg and stepdown/PCU surgical transplant unit.
• Not a PACU position.
• Will not accept OR candidates.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Stepdown experience
• Transplant experience
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience

Preferred Experience

• ENT experience
• Transplant experience
• Preceptor experience
• Charge experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses and changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
• Monitor patient data and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans and discharge information to patients and families
• Make referrals for patient care needs
• Delegate tasks to support staff
