Every other weekend required
Float required as needed

Patient Population

Infants through 21 years old

Unit Highlights

14-bed unit
Common conditions include DKA, respiratory failure, respiratory distress, pneumonia, status asthmaticus, trauma, sepsis, ingestion, seizures, altered mental status, post-arrest, and post-surgical care
Bedside procedures may include central line or arterial line placement, chest tube placement, bronchoscopy, and EVD/bolt placement

Required Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid RN license in Tennessee
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association

Proof of 2 clinical references
Updated skills checklist for the applicable unit
Background check
Drug screen
Physical exam within the last 12 months
Tdap vaccination within 10 years of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunization documentation
Flu vaccination or documentation for the 2026–27 season
Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
Competency exam
Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
State license verification
NURSYS verification
EPLS/GSA/SAM check
HHS/OIG check
