Schedule
- Day shift
- 3x12 hours
- Every other weekend required
- Float required as needed
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Patient Population
- Infants through 21 years old
Unit Highlights
- 14-bed unit
- Common conditions include DKA, respiratory failure, respiratory distress, pneumonia, status asthmaticus, trauma, sepsis, ingestion, seizures, altered mental status, post-arrest, and post-surgical care
- Bedside procedures may include central line or arterial line placement, chest tube placement, bronchoscopy, and EVD/bolt placement
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID
- Social Security card
- Proof of 2 clinical references
- Updated skills checklist for the applicable unit
- Background check
- Drug screen
- Physical exam within the last 12 months
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunization documentation
- Flu vaccination or documentation for the 2026–27 season
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Competency exam
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
- State license verification
- NURSYS verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
