Labor and Delivery

Role

Travel/Contract Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery.

Schedule

• Nights, 19:00–07:30
• 3x12 hours
• Every other weekend coverage

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP
• EFM
• Lactation Certificate
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Job Details

• Call and float are required
• Medication system: Omnicell
• Unit includes LDRP with nursery responsibilities
• Nurses are cross-trained to labor and delivery, circulator role, acute care nursery, and OB triage
• Unit also cares for GYN surgery patients
• Nurses perform their own hearing screenings
• Unit will review first-time travelers depending on years of experience

Patient Care Ratios

• 1:1 with labor patients
• 1:2 with cytotec inductions
• 1:1 with mag patients
• 1:3 with couplet (mother baby) care
• 1:1 if a baby goes to the sick nursery
