Registered Nurse (Med Surg/Telemetry)

Location: Show Low, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week guaranteed (with up to 3 cancellations allowed)

Job Overview

• MedSurg/Telemetry unit with 24 beds, all equipped with Telemetry capability (heavy Telemetry focus)
• Adult patient population only; Pediatric patients are assigned to permanent staff
• Float to all MedSurg units and ICU (MedSurg overflow patients)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • 1:5 during day shifts
  • 1:6 during night shifts
• Support staff includes Telemetry techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist coverage 24/7
• Respiratory Therapist and Pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on unit
• Electronic Medical Record system: Sunrise Allscripts
• Scrub color: any color except all black; scrubs not provided for 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• PALS (AHA) certification preferred
• Pediatric experience required for this position, but travelers will not be assigned pediatric patients
• Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills required
