Registered Echo Technologist (Contract)

Location: Lancaster, Ohio

Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; Wednesday off)

Job Summary

Perform cardiovascular diagnostic ultrasound procedures including 2-D echo with M-Mode, spectral & color flow Doppler, transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, and other non-invasive cardiopulmonary procedures as ordered by physicians.
Assist physicians and cardiovascular staff during procedures.
Maintain high standards of quality care and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
Record and report diagnostic data, including life-threatening results, promptly to physicians.
Clean and disinfect cardiology equipment and accessories.
Perform related duties such as supply inventory, clerical tasks, patient transport, telephone inquiries, procedure logging, and special assignments.
Participate in monthly cardiovascular meetings, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs, and Six Sigma quality initiatives.
Supervise and instruct students; precept new employees.
Uphold patient rights and privacy in compliance with HIPAA.
Perform CPR as needed.
Maintain a neat and safe work environment.
Must pass competencies including rhythm recognition.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist, with experience within the last year preferred.
Registered cardiac sonographer credential or registry eligible through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Associate's or Bachelor of Science degree in Vascular/Echocardiography from an accredited institution, or an Associate's degree in an Allied Health discipline combined with relevant on-the-job training.

Physical and Work Environment

Medium physical demand: exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds often.
Potential exposure to electrical equipment.
