Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
Weekend Shifts: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
Call Requirements: No scheduled on-call; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract
Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
Unit Beds: 40
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
Patient Types: Total joint, surgical, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
Float Expectations: Floating to other units such as Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED) is required
Equipment Used: Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, Zoll defibrillators
Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
Dress Code: Black scrubs (top and bottom), no open shoes

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
Acute care experience
One completed travel nursing assignment
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse is a plus
Compassionate, positive attitude with a can-do mindset

Additional Information

Orientation is conducted weekly
No block schedule requests accepted; 48-hour shifts can be considered but are not guaranteed
Facility is a Joint Commission Accredited community hospital and regional referral center with Level 3 Trauma designation
Location offers outdoor recreation with nearby access to major cities and natural attractions
