Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Tennessee
Telemetry (2 years of experience)
Telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips
Cardiac Stepdown experience

Unit Details

30-bed cardiac unit
Typical patient ratio is 5–6:1
Floating may include general medical-surgical, ortho, PCU, and medical-surgical surgical with oncology
Uses telemetry monitoring and Meditech documentation
Common medications/drips include heparin, Cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, and amiodarone

Scheduling

Every other weekend equivalent: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Procedures / Responsibilities

Chest tube management
Wound vac management
EKGs as needed
Telemetry application and rhythm strip documentation each shift
Bedside rounding and hourly rounding with 5P checks

Additional Notes

Cardiac knowledge is preferred
No artificial nails, gel nails, or gel nail polish
Scrubs: navy for RN staff
