Operating Room Registered Nurse - Charleston, West Virginia

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (9:00 AM - 9:00 PM) or 11 AM - 11 PM, every other weekend required
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Call Requirement: 1 day of call per week; 1-2 weekends per 4-5 week schedule with 30-minute response time when on call

Job Description

• Work in the Operating Room with an average daily census of 22 cases.
• Circulate and scrub experience required.
• Surgical specialties include cardiac, general surgery, vascular, thoracic, robotics.
• Proficiency required in vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting.
• Must be proficient in the following surgical areas:

  • Vascular: AV fistulas/grafts, aortic surgeries/bypasses, femoral to popliteal or distal bypasses, carotids, embolectomies.
  • Orthopedics: Arthroscopies and total joint replacements.
  • General Surgery: Colorectal/colon resections, laparoscopic-assisted surgeries, Whipples, liver resections, thyroids, mastectomies.
  • ENT: Tracheostomies, laryngectomies, radical neck dissections.
  • Urology: Cystectomies, nephrectomies, prostatectomies, implants, cystoscopy-related procedures.
  • Robotics: Gynecology, colorectal, hernias, laparoscopic Nissen fundoplications.
  • Gynecology: Abdominal/vaginal hysterectomies, posterior/anterior repairs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Scrub experience
• Experience in cardiac surgery
• Experience in general surgery
• Experience in vascular surgery
• Experience in thoracic surgery
• Experience in robotics surgery
• Proficiency in vein harvesting
• Proficiency in radial artery harvesting
• Experience in orthopedic surgery
• Experience in ENT surgery
• Experience in urology
• Experience in OB/GYN surgery
