Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• AWHONN
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NRP
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor management
• Circulating a cesarean section

Unit Details

• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge or CNC, 8-10 RNs, 1-2 OB techs, and 1 HUC
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge or CNC, 8-10 RNs, and 1-2 OB techs
• Patient ratios include 1:1 for Pitocin, C-section delivery, and recovery; 2-3 antepartum patients
• Uses GE fetal monitoring
• On-call requirement: 1-2 shifts per schedule
• May float to Mother Baby if needed, and may also be used outside Women’s as a resource only
