Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Utica, New York.
• 13-week assignment.
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 8:30–21:00.
• 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend required.
• No block schedule guaranteed.
• Holiday RTO is limited; traveler must be able to work either the eve/day of Christmas and New Year’s.

Unit / Setting

• ED is a 68-bed unit.
• Includes super track, psych, and trauma.
• All private rooms.
• High-acuity unit.
• Level 3 trauma center.
• Comprehensive Stroke Center.
• Regional Cardiac Center with Cath, EP, and IR.
• Pediatrics present in the department.
• Occasional hallway beds and results pending.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience).
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year.
• Travel experience required.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course.
• NIHSS.
• Harassment Prevention Training Certificate.
• Experience with Epic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Peds experience.

Support Staff

• 1 PCT per pod.
• First-look RN.
• Triage RN.
• Charge RN.
• Secretary.
• RT.
• Lab on occasion.
• Critical response RN.

Clinical Details

• Drips used: TNK, Cleviprex, Level 1 infusion for MTP.

Orientation

• 1/2 day clinical orientation.
• 1/2 day shadowing on unit with nurse.

• Locals accepted at a local rate.
• Parking available at no charge.
• SANE experience may be asked about; comfort accepting a patient needing the exam may also be asked.
