Shift & Hours

  • 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Weekends and holidays required
  • Float Pool position with floating to multiple pediatric units including:
    • 34-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
    • 25-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
    • 112-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) (limited to feeder growers, low acuity patients)
    • Acute care units: surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (gastrointestinal, neurology, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down unit, cardiac pediatrics

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe and intervene as necessary
  • Administer medications, initiate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families
  • Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and make referrals as needed
  • Delegate tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oklahoma
  • Pediatrics nursing experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Experience with tracheostomy care (trach)
  • Experience with high-flow oxygen therapy (hi flow)
  • Familiarity with infusion
  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
  • Behavioral Health experience
  • Stepdown experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program

Additional Information

  • Must be able to float to all children’s units listed
  • NICU floating limited to low acuity feeder growers, not traditional NICU patients
