Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:45 - 7:15)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Work Environment
- CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) night shift
- Welcomes first-time travel nurses
- May float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU as needed
- Every other weekend work required
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Oklahoma
- Primary source online license verification required (e.g., NURSYS)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Verification includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, and education verification
- Employment eligibility verification (E-Verify) required
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Adult Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if titers negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Completion of employment application/resume submission
- Photo for badge identification
- Competency exams and color blindness test as applicable
- Orientation safety manual and HIPAA acknowledgement
