Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Charlotte, North Carolina
• 12-hour nights, 3x12 schedule: 18:45–07:15
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 20 weeks
• Locals accepted

Unit Details

• Neuro Stepdown / PCU / DOU / IMC / Stepdown & Telemetry
• Intermediate unit with a neurological population along with medical intermediate patients
• Unit ratio: 1:4
• Average daily census: up to 24 patients
• Rooms/Beds: 24
• Float scope: other intermediate areas like 6a or 5A PCTU or 5C Cardiac Intermediate, along with critical care (ICU/Stepdown patients)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Intermediate Care (2 years of experience)
• Intermediate Care experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Ability to titrate LEVO (Levophed/norepinephrine)
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
• TR Band (transradial band) management
• IV insulin protocols
• Titration of insulin drips
• Feeding tube care and management
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Pre/Post hemodialysis management
• Experience with Epic
• Must have a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff
• Must be able to adhere to the call-off policy
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred

• Accessing/managing ports
• Phlebotomy
• Triage
• ICP
• Conscious sedation
• Charge nurse experience
• CCRN
• TNCC
• CPI

Scheduling / Staffing

• No call requirement
• Travelers must work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• Shift options of 36s and 48s can be offered

• RTO after booking is not allowed
• Scrubs not provided; navy blue and white combination required
