Registered Nurse (Neuro Telemetry) - Chandler, AZ

Job Details

Unit: D4 Neuro Telemetry
Beds: 28
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours per week: 36
Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Orientation: 2 days floor-specific orientation
Float: Every other weekend plus first to float; may float to a sister facility

Patient Population & Care

Neuro post-surgical patients, post-craniotomy, spine cases, and CVAs post TPA
No ICP monitoring required
Centralized telemetry; RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
No ventilator patients
Hospitalist rounds during the day and on call at night
Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
Charge nurse role available without patient assignment
Clinical supervisor in a management role
Patient care technicians (PCTs) ratio: 1 per 16 patients

Required Certifications & Exams

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (max 2 attempts) via RELIAS
Pass/fail sterile field exam on day 1 of orientation (study materials provided)

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Neuro Telemetry (within past 6 months)
COVID-19 vaccine required or approved religious/medical exemption with documentation

Scrub color: Navy
No IV team on unit
Emphasis on sterile technique and telemetry skills
