Patient population: adults ages 18+
Unit has 64 beds, including 15 designated neuro beds
Common diagnoses include neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-op cases
Equipment includes temporary pacer, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, Neptune, and Vapo vents
Chronic vents are used, with RT assistance for patients unable to wean
