Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (General Ultrasound Tech)
  • Shift: Night shift, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM (3 shifts of 12 hours each) with holiday rotation
  • Daily Caseload: Varies
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, between Main Hospital and ART units within scope
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment
  • Experience with renal transplant ultrasound
  • Experience with liver transplant ultrasound
  • Proficient in abdominal Doppler imaging
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • ARDMS or ARRT (Sonography) certification required

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete employment application/resume including all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps

    • 7-year residential/work history
    • SSN trace, statewide and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, international searches if applicable
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated every 30 days
  • Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
  • Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers (attestation letters accepted only if other verification methods exhausted)
  • Color blindness testing required prior to start
  • Competency exams as applicable
  • Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest x-ray if prior positive
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
    • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted) during flu season
  • Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Photo for badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, frontal view, business casual attire, no hats or sunglasses
  • Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
  • COVID vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete facility vaccination declination form

  • All required documents and certifications must be current and valid at start; certifications expiring within 30 days of start must be renewed or have a course scheduled prior to start
