Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Day: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM / Night: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Unit Type: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
  • Float Requirement: Must float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, 6 weekend shifts total

Required Skills

  • Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
  • Cardiac telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • IV therapy including PICC line and peripheral line management, IV starts
  • Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
    • Minimum overall score of 80%
    • 100% score on lethal rhythms section

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in District of Columbia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
  • Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Skilled in IV therapy, including PICC line and peripheral line management

Additional Requirements

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
  • Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date
  • Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
  • Must provide clear photo for badge
  • Must be available for holiday coverage
  • Must comply with facility policies including parking fees
