Job Overview
- Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract length: 20 weeks
- Start preference: August 24 or September 8
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Call requirement: None
- RTO restriction: No RTO for the first 8 days of the contract
Unit Details
- 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
- Nurses provide antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nurse, newborn care at delivery, and couplet care
- Nurses also perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens
- Patient staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- AWHONN Intermediate or NCC C-EFM
- Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) triage experience
Preferred Qualifications
- AWHONN Advanced
- Scrub
Work Expectations
- Will work in all areas of LDRP
- May float to sitter coverage in the house when needed
- May float to labor and delivery and mother baby when census and need arise
Additional Notes
- Scrubs are provided
- Training will be provided for newborn infant hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine
- EPIC documentation is used
