Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact
• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
• Level 2 NICU experience required; Level 3 NICU experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required, or declination form with appropriate documentation and hospital approval

Schedule Requirements

• Self-scheduling
• 3 weekend shifts per schedule month
• 1 major and 1 minor holiday if they fall within the assignment

Assignment Details

• Float to a sister hospital NICU
• 2 shifts of unit orientation
• Pass/fail simulation lab on Foley catheter insertion on day 1 of orientation

Unit Details

• Level II Special Care Nursery
• Cares for babies 32 weeks and above
• Typical patient ratios are 3:1, with 2:1 depending on acuity
• No monitor techs on the unit
• Charge nurse typically does not take an assignment, though may occasionally have one low-acuity patient
• NNP coverage is in house 24/7, with pediatrician coverage/on-call 24 hours
• Nurses start their own IVs
• Certified neonatal PICC team is available

• Respiratory syncytial virus sepsis
• Hyperbilirubinemia

• Not required to titrate drips
