Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ACLS
BLS
NRP
Fetal heart monitoring
Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
Experience in an Acute Care setting

Key Responsibilities

Reassess patient needs and update care plans throughout the shift
Administer medications and evaluate their effects
Perform treatments and procedures using standard precautions and sterile technique
Document patient care, teaching, and progress accurately
Educate patients and families as appropriate
Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and care team members
Participate in multidisciplinary care planning
Manage laboring patients and newborns immediately after delivery
Assess fetal monitoring, recognize fetal distress, and intervene appropriately
Assist with placement of UIPC and fetal scalp electrode
Monitor patients receiving magnesium sulfate and assess for signs of toxicity
