Inova Springfield Healthplex is looking for an experienced Emergency Registered Nurse to join the team as a Unit Supervisor
Schedule: Full-time; night shift (7pm - 7am)
Requires 2 years minimum ED experience
This Free-Standing Emergency Unit services the local community:
- 80-105 patients a day, with approximately 20% pediatric patients
- Average LOS 96 mins
- 4-5:1 patient to nurse ratio
- Ventilator trained nursing and EMT staff

Job Summary:
- Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit
- Embraces; uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools.
- Supports unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes
- Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibility

Requirements:
- 2 years plus of ED RN experience
- Associate Degree RNs within one year of completing their BSN BSN or MSN preferred Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90 days
- Previous leadership courses preferred
- BLS required. Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 1 year of hire Strongly prefer current ACLS and PALS
- Licensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention.
- Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations.
- Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization; can serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit.
