Description
Start Date: July 6, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, every other weekend required, 13-26 week assignments available
Highlights:
- Medical Surgical unit with oncology patient population requiring chemotherapy administration skills
- Comprehensive support services including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, respiratory, and lift teams
- 42-bed unit with Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management
- 24-hour orientation with first-time travelers welcome
- Oncology certification preferred; facility willing to train and support chemo certification if needed
- Floating to similar acute care units and emergency department inpatient holding as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care/inpatient RN experience
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to administer chemotherapy/biotherapy via IV, PO, and injection routes
- North Carolina RN license or multistate Compact license
- Experience with Med/Surg patient care, port access, blood product administration, and central line management
- Competency in colostomy care, PICC lines, heparin/insulin administration, surgical drains, chest tubes, and wound care/wound vac
- Proficiency with isolation precautions, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen delivery systems
- Must pass facility EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Availability to work during emergency events including storm team/hurricane team assignments
