Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Contract lengths up to 20+ weeks available (hard stop February 27, 2027). Patient ratio 1:6.

• Primary neuroscience unit specializing in stroke care, with additional focus on epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, brain tumors, and other neurological diagnoses
• 42-bed unit with 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) for intermediate-level care
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 36-hour orientation with dedicated training for unit-specific protocols and procedures
• Floating required to other Med-Surg/Telemetry areas as needed to support facility operations
• Extended contract options available through February 2027 to support the unit through high-volume periods

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience (required)
• Previous travel assignment experience required – first-time travelers will not be accepted; must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts
• Current North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Required Certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Preferred Certifications: ACLS
• Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with neuro patient populations and Medical-Surgical Telemetry environments
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
• Epic charting experience required
• Must be available to work every other weekend and flexible with floating assignments
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
